Laundry Room Progress

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

We have been making great progress on the laundry room makeover. Here is my original vision for the room. Richard installed the countertop this weekend, painting is complete, and I have started accessorizing a little. Projects still left include a new valance, backsplash, install cabinetry, install hooks, and decide on light fixture. Okay, well now that I typed it out, it seems like we have a lot left to do!  Here is what we have done so far:

My calendar got a facelift with some new fabric and paint. It use to look like this. I also hung my thrift baskets. I think they are going to be really functional!

I cut some labels out of scrapbook paper and clipped them on with mini clothes pins.

Sneak peak at the blue door!  That is all you get to see of it for now!

DIY laundry art. I found these frames on super clearance at HomeGoods. I was going to paint the glass with chalkboard paint, but I found a nice surprise when I took them apart, the backing was black cardboard! I just wrote with chalk pin right on the cardstock. It is far from perfect, but I like it's whimsy.

Here is a sneak peak at the countertop. I REALLY love it. It is an island size butcher block from Ikea and it worked out perfect! You have wait to see the completed project though....coming soon.
