Laundry Room Reveal - FINALLY!

Monday, February 11, 2013

The laundry room is finished and fabulous and functional! I truly don't mind working in this room anymore! Here is a look at the whole space...

Front loading washer and dryer with a butcher block countertop.

Laundry supplies are stored in a basket for quick reach. New cabinets provide much for functional storage!

I was able to sneak in some shoe storage under one end of the countertop.
A few pretty things to make me happy. The bowl serves as a great key drop.

Supply containers. I opted for a laundry soap decanter over a pull tab dispenser. I think the pull tab would be hard to keep clean. The decanter has worked out great!

DIY laundry signs. I just wrote on on the frame backing in chalk pen. How is that for resourceful???

New mosaic black-splash. I like the mix of glass and stone. It also ties in the kitchen backsplash, but feels unique too. It is easier to install mosaics as opposed to bigger tiles. These did not even require a tile saw. We just used tile nippers to   get them the size we needed.
Butcher Block countertop. We stained it for durability and because this is not a food prep surface. It will also be no maintenance that way. In a kitchen, you would need to use mineral oils instead and repeat the process several times a year.

Clothespin "hooks". They are so functional. I love that they are spread apart and mounted at two heights so the kids can hang and retrieve their own things.

Large canvas fills the wall and brings all of the room colors together.

Hanging baskets for things to land in as well as the family calendar keep us organized!

In this picture: DIY cornice board, DIY basket lampshade, and my favorite: the laundry drying system! The blue doors just make me happy too :).

The rug! This was my inspiration for the whole space!
