Stair Clutter...Aghhhh!

There are a lot of perks to a two story house and I have really grown to love it, but there is one thing that drives me crazy. STAIR CLUTTER! My daughter brings a toy down with her every time she comes down stairs. Both kids start the day layered up and then the layers come off and onto the floor as the days goes on. Shoes. Hats. Clean Laundry. Dirty Laundry. Dolls. Doll clothes. Burp Rags.....AGGHHHHH! It can make your head spin.

So I had to come up with a solution to at least contain the mess and make it easier to move it up the stairs when needed. Cue Stair baskets. I have also heard them referred to cr*p baskets, but we won't use due to little ears in our house. I found some great baskets at Homegoods and personalized them for each child.

Here is another solution I have seen from Ballard and some other catalogs. I am not sure how I feel about it. It would definitely take up less room on the stairs, but it would not hold anything. Mine are normally overflowing as it is!

Anyone have any other ideas on how to best deal with stair clutter? I would love to hear them!

  1. My favorite bag in the WORLD right now is the Thirty-One Large Utility Tote - I use them for everything! I have a few friends that use them for the purpose you are- stair clutter and moving folded laundry up and dirty clothes down. They are big and "stand up" when you need them too, collapse flat when you need them too - can have names on them AND can go over your shoulder- Love them!!!
