Sophisticated Retreat Design

My parents recently did what they have been dreaming of for years. They retired from their full time jobs, sold their house that they have lived in for 25 years, and moved to their favorite place, Tablerock Lake in Missouri. They have a beautiful home in a quiet lakefront community. My Mom has very sophisticated taste and my Dad's prize possession is his baby grand piano. That was a difficult combination in helping with a lake house design.

Here is what we came up with.

Black and white is the theme through out the house. The home also has neutral walls and great mouldings that my parents did not want to cover up with window treatments. The design incorporates his and hers chairs including a much improved recliner for my Dad. I think it is still a warm and inviting room, but elegant enough to house the piano. 

My parents have been working really hard on their renovations and I can't wait to go see it and take in some r'n'r in their new paradise!
