Laundry Room Progress With a Change of Plans

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

So...we just happened upon a pretty great deal on some pretty great cabinets. Now I have to rethink my laundry room design a little bit. I originally was thinking creamy white cabinets with a slate hexagon tile backsplash. The cabinets we found are a walnut brown and I really like them too much to paint them. The tone matches the butcher block perfectly. They are solid wood throughout, which is a welcome surprise after looking at tones of stock cabinets. Now I am thinking a marble mosaic backsplash to still bring in the white I was looking for. Here are the cabinets:

What do you think? Do you like them? The color? Do you think they should be painted? I would LOVE to hear your opinion. I will share the source when I do the final reveal, I think you will be very surprised! Anyone want to guess?

I have also been piddling with my washing supplies. A soap "decanter", bucket for baking soda, jar for dryer sheets, vase for clothespins. Add some cute labels and it is laundry fashion!

You can see other laundry room posts here and here.

  1. I love the cabinets! Don't paint them. That's my vote. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
