Guest Room Makeover

Saturday, May 28, 2011

With baby boy on the way, we are down to one guest room, so I wanted to give it a little TLC so our guests feel welcome. I didn't take before pictures, but trust me when I say it was bad. Diaper yellow walls, mismatched furniture, dusty old drapes that were there when we moved in. Now it is lighter and brighter. It was done on a low budget, so it is far from perfect, but I think it is a happy room to stay in.

The back wall is sweatshirt gray and the other three are navajo white from Sherman Williams. The bedding is from Anna's linens. That store is hit or miss, but I saw this in their circular and went to grab it. Bench is from TJ Maxx, rug from Ikea. Curtain and throw are from Ikea. The art is a home made project done with a stencil and some layered paints. The sun mirror is Homegoods. I didn't get a good picture of it, but the light is a two tired drum shade with a damask print from Lowes. The hotel is ready for guests!

  3. I was goggling for ideas for my "big sister" daughter & her little brother's room. GREAT ideas. Noticed that it seems that much is going on with your son. I WILL pray for him & all of you. In fact, I just did but I will continue to. God is indeed in control, lean on him. After all He designed your sweet little boy & knows the plan He has for him. The beauty of Internet- connecting from all over ( I'm in MN).
