Office Makeover

Monday, May 11, 2009

Since we did not do a nursery yet, we decided to use our "nesting" energy on an office makeover. This was a forgotten room on the far side of our house, and now it feels like it has a purpose. Take a look at the pics below to see how it was transformed.

Before: The room had dingy wainscoting and old 60's wallpaper that had been painted over. The furniture arrangement was not working for us either.

After: The room got a transformation. The wallpaper came down and we put up new texture and paint. We added crown moulding and freshened up the wainscoting. The room had an old 80's fan. That was replaced with this lamp shade pendant. It provides great task lighting and looks much better. We also rearranged the furniture to make better use of the space. I made the bulletin board and we have a matching curtain panel and pillow for the chair that are being made.

Before: Another picture of the strange layout and mismatch of office accessories.

After: The window and furniture now look like they were planned to be that way.

After: The flooring was 50 year old linoleum that we had covered with a large rug. The office now has Eco-friendly bamboo floors and a new rug. Richard was the handyman on this project and he did such a good job!

And...I am still pregnant. 2 weeks to go. I would love for Baby Mia to come sooner, but trust in God's timing. I am trying to not be too whiny, but it is tough at this point! We will keep you all posted on the progress.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful Mommies in our life!
