"NaNa" Day Care

Sunday, February 15, 2009

This week, I had the great privaledge of keeping my 14 month old neice, Bennett. She was such a joy to have around. She slept in between Richard and I every night (sorry Michelle) and we had great play time during the day. My house is a little sad now without her. The time with her brought me such joy, that is makes me even more excited to have a little one around again. Here are some pictures...I just captured a few because she is very mobile now!

Isn't she a doll! She will actually say "CHEESE" when she sees a camera pointed at her.
This is her sleepy face. That pacifer goes wherever she goes too.
Playing with "Pu Do" aka Play Dough is one her favorite things to do. She only snuck in a few nibbles of the dough...
This is Bennett running a way from me. She says "go go go" when she is trying to hurry away. Most of the week I was chasing her around. I loved every minute of it!
And now...for the most special surprise. Michelle had her good friend, Krista, make us the most beautiful painting for our bedroom. It is of a beautiful daylily. It has the words "hope, longing, and life" from Proverbs 13. My sister found this verse and I think it is a perfect fit for Richard and I. It captures what we have felt in this year of grief, but also the hope that comes from the life we are expecting. Thank you so much for this special gift, Michelle and Beau, we will treasure it forever!
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. "

  6. Hi Jenn,
You don't know me but I've followed your blog(s) since last March when you lost your Lilly. I have to tell you that I mourned over Lilly for months. Actually, I sometimes still think about her and cry. She was so unbelieveably gorgeous. Her beauty will always resonate in my mind. Lilly was born just a couple of weeks before my daughter (who was 9 weeks early), so when she passed I felt a strong connection to her. Your family has touched my life immensely and I wanted to thank you for maintaining your faith in God during your suffering. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 28 when I was just 4 weeks pregnant. (Addison and I are both doing wonderfully, praise the Lord.) But, there were times when I thought about how unfair the situation was and it only took a second for me to get over it as I thought of you and what you have faced, yet you always seemed to remain strong in your faith. You are/were an inspiration to me and I just had to thank you. I was so excited (probably a little too much for someone I don't even personally know!) to hear that you were pregnant and when I found out it was a girl, I ran to tell my husband. Haa. I can't imagine the emotions you had running through you when you heard those words "It's a girl!" Silly, I know, but I do believe Lilly has sent her to you. I am so happy for you and wish you all the happiness in the world!

Hugs to all of you...especially that baby girl!

  7. Hello
A friend of a friend directed me to your blog quite some time ago and my husband and I have prayed for you and your husband often ever since... athough we have never met, I knew that you were going through a lot and needed all the love and prayers headed your way. I recently came across another blog of a family dealing with the death of their little girl from a rare form of cancer, thought that you may be able to give them some encouragement from your journey
    Here is their blog.

Thanks and Congrats on the new baby girl coming!
