Drumroll...Renovation Plans are In!

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Okay, here are our renovation plans. The first set is the exisiting space. Our master bedroom is at the very top. The new space takes over an adjacent bedroom (the nursery) and makes it into a bathroom and master closet. We had been planning to do this project for the last year, so it is by no means a radical grieving decision. There will be room for future babies if needed. I will probably never be able to let them sleep in their own rooms anyway!

Now starts the design phase. We have to pick out flooring, bathtub, sinks, faucets, colors, even a toilet! Who knew that could be such a big decision. We are going to have to brick in some existing windows and create new ones. That might sway our painting decision if we can't get the new brick to match the old brick outside. So I will take your votes into account, but please don't be mad if we have to paint the brick. Take a look at the plans and let us know what you think.

  4. Hi, I'm one of those friends of a friend of a friend... Anyway, here is my 2 cents. Depends on your motivation because in terms of re-sale it's never a good idea to lose a bedroom. Not sure how many are in your house but that's a general rule. But if you aren't too worried about that or there are 3 other rooms hiding elsewhere in the house then I say "go for it" because the plans are amazing and it would truely be a magnificent master sweet!

  7. I think it looks great! I am so excited for you; I know it will be fun making all those decisions. Jennifer will make most of the decorative decisions I feel sure! Richard will like the demolition and probably lots of the finishing work. Wish I could be there to watch the progress. I love your house and this will make it even neater. And maybe someday a nursery space in your room will work great.

  17. Hey Richard and Jennifer, being a Real Estate Agent I say you are making a wise choice with the renovation. Master suites are what buyers are looking for; also, large closets, double vanities and all the extras that I see in your plans. I also noticed a powder room, which is perfect. You are adding great value to your home. Take care...Lisa Pedigo
