Mia's New Bathroom

Sunday, February 28, 2010

Mia's bathroom got a much needed makeover. It had been too teal and too bright for too long! It is now fun and sophisticated for our girly girl. It would be pretty neutral without the pink accents if needed. Enjoy some before and after shots...

Entrance to the bathroom before. Notice the bright blue and scary light fixtures.

After! New lighting and gray walls. The color is called "sweatshirt gray" by Ralph Lauren. New granite countertops, new fixtures, and new floor. Please excuse the missing baseboard...my handy man has been busy!

Before: old outdated mirror that had started to cloud, old laminate counters that had "sparkle" accents, and faucets that barely worked.
After: Single mirror over each sink and new faucets. New can lights over each mirror as well. We tried to create a timeless feel, that still felt new. Fresh coat of paint on the cabinets and new hardware too.

Before: Shower curtain to try and make sense of the bright blue.
After: new chandelier...you won't believe how little I paid for it! New shower curtain.

Accessories: Bright pink vases and white sticks.

Basket weave floors that go with the age of our home, but look fresh and clean.

  1. I normally don't comment on your blog. I use to work with your husband at EY. I wanted to know where you got that chandelier. I'm looking at different lighting options with my interior designer and I liked the one you picked out.

  2. I had to laugh at the bathroom - at my grandparents' house, their second bathroom was turquoise EVERYWHERE. Have you ever seen a turquoise tub, toilet, shower stall, walls, cabinets...EVERYTHING was turquoise. Love the new bathroom!

  6. The chandelier is from Hobby Lobby! We re-wired it from a plug in to a hard wired light. Labor, supplies, and light came in at less than $100!
